International Youth Day- 12th August

Today Momentum is celebrating International Youth Day with this year’s focus being on the eradication of poverty and achieving sustainable production and consumption.

Momentum is passionate about both of these issues and supports many young people throughout Scotland, delivering several skills based programmes and employment opportunities within a number of enterprise production businesses.

Momentum’s office in Larbert not only supports young people in gaining new skills and moving into further education or employment via their skills programmes, It is also home to their sister company Haven, and their garment factory PTS; a supported enterprise business that produces various products such as staff uniforms for the NHS and premium packaging for The Famous Grouse whisky. Haven also operates a supported enterprise recycling factory Haven Recycle based in Hillington, a packaging business based in Clydebank, and a supported signage business Sign Factory based in Larbert, each providing similar opportunities.

Having such great facilities enables us to support young people on the Specialist Employment and Training Support Project (SETS), giving them a chance to gain first-hand experience of working in one of our factories, a taste of independent living and the opportunity to develop real life skills such as managing their finances.

Momentum will continue to support young people all over Scotland through a variety of fantastic projects
